Read this before you buy
This subscription is priced for the India region, and it has to be activated from an Indian IP address. That is the whole reason it costs a fraction of Duolingo’s own price, and it is the one thing you need to be comfortable with before you order.
We are also not going to promise you the full twelve months. Duolingo sets its own regional rules, and if they change how they enforce them, a subscription already applied can stop working. That is outside our control, so we do not offer a replacement or a refund if it happens, and we would rather tell you now than argue about it later.
If that risk is not acceptable to you, buying directly from Duolingo is the safe choice and we will not pretend otherwise. If it is acceptable, read on.
Two ways to activate it
You choose. Neither costs more than the other.
- We do it for you. Order, then send us your Duolingo sign-in details on WhatsApp. We apply the subscription and tell you when it is on. Set a temporary password before you send it and change it afterwards, which is what we would do in your place.
- You do it yourself. We send you what you need and you activate it from an Indian IP address. Nothing of yours passes through us.
Please do not put your password in the order notes at checkout. That field is stored in plain text and ends up in order emails. WhatsApp is the better channel, and the temporary password is better still.
Your account stays yours
The subscription goes onto the Duolingo account you already use. Your streak, your XP, your league placing and your friends all stay exactly where they are. You do not start over and you do not move to an account we created.
That is the part worth paying attention to. A streak of several hundred days is not something you want to abandon to save a few dollars, and plenty of listings elsewhere hand you a fresh account without mentioning it.

The hearts are the change you feel first. On the free plan a run of wrong answers locks you out mid-lesson, which is the opposite of how anyone learns a language. Making mistakes without being punished for them is most of what you are buying here.
Paying without a credit card
Duolingo wants a card or a store account tied to one, and plenty of people across Africa do not have either. Here the payment goes through the mobile wallet you already use, straight from your phone.
We accept MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, Moov Money, Wave, M-Pesa, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Free Money, Vodacom, Tigo and Halotel, depending on where you are. Fourteen countries are covered, and PayPal and card payments work everywhere else. Pick your country at checkout and you only see the wallets that work there, with the price in your local currency.
Common questions
Do I need a VPN?
The activation has to come from an Indian IP address. If you would rather not deal with that, choose the option where we activate it for you and you need nothing on your side.
Do I keep my streak and my XP?
Yes. The subscription goes onto your own account and changes nothing about your history.
What happens if Duolingo cancels it?
You lose the remaining months and we do not replace or refund it. We say this plainly because it is the risk that comes with the price.
Is it safe to send you my password?
Set a temporary one before you send it and change it once we confirm. Send it on WhatsApp rather than in the order notes.
Can I activate it myself instead?
Yes, and nothing of yours passes through us if you do. You need an Indian IP address for the activation.
How long does it take?
Five minutes as a rule once we have what we need, two hours at the very outside.
How do I pay without a bank card?
Pick your country and mobile wallet at checkout, then approve the payment on your phone.
