WUCHANG is a single-player action game, so PlayStation Plus is not required. The price on this page is the whole cost, which is not true of the multiplayer titles sitting next to it in our catalogue.
Once downloaded it also runs offline, which is worth knowing if your connection drops regularly. And at 20 GB it is the lightest game we sell, so the download will not eat a month of data.
Know what you are buying
This is a soulslike. Deliberate combat, demanding bosses, and the expectation that you will die repeatedly while learning each fight.
We mention it because people buy games in this genre on the strength of the trailers and then find the difficulty is the point rather than an obstacle. If that style appeals to you, you already know. If you want something you can relax into after work, this is not it.
What you receive
Login details for a PlayStation Network account holding the Standard Edition, emailed once payment clears. Usually five minutes, two hours at the worst. No region lock.
How the account works
Change the password and the sign-in email the first time you log in. That is what puts the account under your sole control, and it takes two minutes.
Then enable console sharing and offline play, and the game runs on your own PSN profile with your trophies and saves intact.
Standard or Deluxe
The Deluxe Edition hands you five weapons and two upgrade items from early in the game, plus six costume sets. The main game, the story and the bosses are identical.
| What you get | Standard | Deluxe |
|---|---|---|
| The full game and story | Yes | Yes |
| Download size | 20 GB | 20 GB |
| PlayStation Plus needed | No | No |
| Playable offline | Yes | Yes |
| Enhanced costume sets | None | Two, five pieces each |
| Further costumes | None | Four |
| Weapons available early | None | Five |
| Skill upgrade items | None | Two |
| Effect on the difficulty curve | None | Easier in the first hours |
That last line is the one to think about. In a soulslike, starting with a full arsenal removes part of what the genre is for. Plenty of players finish their first run on this edition and are glad they did. The Deluxe Edition is here if you would rather try several weapon types without grinding for them.
Paying without a credit card
The PlayStation Store wants a card registered in the account’s country. Here the payment goes through the mobile wallet you already use, straight from your phone.
We accept MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, Moov Money, Wave, M-Pesa, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Free Money, Vodacom, Tigo and Halotel, depending on where you are. Fourteen countries are covered, and PayPal and card payments work everywhere else. Pick your country at checkout and you only see the wallets that work there, with the price in your local currency.
Common questions
Do I need PlayStation Plus?
No. This is a single-player game.
How much space does it need?
20 GB on the console, which is small for a current PS5 game.
Can I play offline?
Yes, once the game has downloaded.
Is it very difficult?
It is a soulslike, so yes by design. Expect to repeat fights while you learn them.
What does the Deluxe add?
Six costume sets, five weapons and two skill upgrade items, all available early. It makes the first hours easier but adds no story and no new areas.
Is the account mine?
Yes. You change the password and the sign-in email on first login.
Can I play on my own profile?
Yes, once you enable console sharing.
How do I pay without a bank card?
Pick your country and mobile wallet at checkout, then approve the payment on your phone.
