Norton 360 Deluxe protects five devices at once, and they do not have to be the same kind. Two laptops, three phones. One desktop, a tablet and three phones. You decide as you go, and you can swap a device out later from your Norton account.

Each one gets the same protection: real-time scanning, the Smart Firewall, the password manager, cloud backup and Norton Secure VPN with no data cap.

Why this is usually the right tier

Count the screens in your house that touch the internet. For most families it lands between three and six, which puts the single-device Standard licence out of the running and makes Deluxe the sensible purchase.

The phones matter more than people expect. A phone used for mobile money, WhatsApp and banking holds more that is worth stealing than the family laptop does, and it is the device most likely to install something from outside the official store.

Parental controls

Deluxe adds parental controls, which Standard does not have. Screen time limits, site filtering, and a view of what the younger users are doing. Worth knowing about if you are buying for a household rather than for yourself.

A word on dark web monitoring

Norton advertises it heavily. It is built around American identity documents, so outside the United States it has little to tell you. Buy this licence for the protection and the VPN, not for that.

Norton’s own store wants a Visa or Mastercard. Here the payment goes through the mobile wallet you already use, straight from your phone.
