Microsoft Word 2024 License

What you receive

A retail licence key for Microsoft Word 2024, emailed once payment clears. Usually five minutes, two hours at the worst. You install Word from Microsoft’s own installer and activate it with the key.

One computer, one payment, nothing to renew. This is the perpetual licence, not a Microsoft 365 subscription, so it keeps working whether or not you pay us again.

How long it keeps receiving updates

Microsoft supports Office 2024 until 9 October 2029. Until then you get security updates. After that the software keeps running, it simply stops being patched, which is the same arrangement as every perpetual Office licence before it.

That matters more than the version number. A licence that stops being updated next year is worth less than one supported for another three, whatever the box says.

Word alone, or the whole suite?

Worth two minutes before you buy, because the answer is often the suite.

If Word is all you need, this page is the cheapest way to get it. But if you also want Excel and PowerPoint, buying the three separately costs more than our Office LTSC 2024 Standard, which includes all three and more. We would rather tell you that than sell you three keys.

Before you install

Word 2024 runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft asks for a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of memory, and DirectX 9 or later for hardware acceleration. Their full list is on the official requirements page.

Any computer bought in the last ten years clears that comfortably. If you are unsure, send us your specifications on WhatsApp.

Activating it

1. Sign in to a Microsoft account, or create one. It is free.
2. Enter the key we sent you to attach the licence to that account.
3. Download Word from the account page and install it.
4. Open Word once while connected, and activation completes on its own.

Message us on WhatsApp if a step gives you trouble. We stay reachable while you set it up, and activation is where most questions come from.

Paying without a credit card

Microsoft’s own store wants a Visa or Mastercard, and plenty of people across Africa do not have one. Here the payment goes through the mobile wallet you already use, straight from your phone.

We accept MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, Moov Money, Wave, M-Pesa, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Free Money, Vodacom, Tigo and Halotel, depending on where you are. Fourteen countries are covered, and PayPal and card payments work everywhere else. Pick your country at checkout and you only see the wallets that work there, with the price in your local currency.
