No Credit Card? How to Buy Genuine Software with Mobile Money in Cameroon (2026)

In Cameroon, as across most of the continent, the obstacle is rarely the price. It is the payment. Microsoft, Steam and Spotify all want a Visa or Mastercard that works for international transactions, and plenty of students, freelancers and business owners here do not have one.

That gap is why people end up with a cracked copy of Office. Not because they weighed the risk and accepted it, but because the official checkout page refused them. This article explains how to pay for the real thing from the mobile wallet you already use.

What you can pay with

At checkout you pick your country, and you only see the wallets that work there. In Cameroon that means MTN MoMo and Orange Money. Elsewhere in our coverage it includes Airtel Money, Moov Money, Wave, M-Pesa, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Free Money, Vodacom, Tigo and Halotel.
