Why this card exists
Sony runs no PlayStation Store for most countries in sub-Saharan Africa. If you own a PS5 in Yaoundé, Abidjan or Accra, your console is most likely signed in to an account registered in the United States, because that is the store everyone ends up choosing.
And then you hit the second wall: that store wants a US payment card. This gift card is the way round it. You buy the code here with mobile money, redeem it on your US account, and the balance sits in your wallet ready to spend.
Read this before ordering
PlayStation gift cards are locked to one region. A US code redeems on a US account and nowhere else. It will not work on a French, German or UK account, and there is no way to convert it afterwards.
Check your account region first: on the console, open Settings, then Users and Accounts, then Account, then Country or Region. If it says United States, this is your card. If it says France or Germany, take the French card or the German card instead.
Not sure? Send us a screenshot on WhatsApp before you pay. It takes us ten seconds to tell you, and it saves you a code you cannot use.
What you can buy with it
Anything the US store sells: PS5 and PS4 games, add-ons and season passes, PlayStation Plus subscriptions, and film rentals. The balance stays in the account wallet until you spend it, so you can top up now and buy during a sale.
Worth knowing: the US store usually carries the largest catalogue of the three regions we stock, and its sale prices are quoted in dollars, which makes comparing easier when you are converting from CFA or shillings anyway.
How to redeem it
- On your PS5, open the PlayStation Store and choose Redeem Codes from the menu.
- Enter the twelve-character code from your email.
- The balance appears in your wallet immediately.
You can also redeem it from a browser by signing in to your account on PlayStation’s website.
Paying without a credit card
That is the whole point of this listing. Sony wants a US card; we do not. The payment goes through the mobile wallet you already use, straight from your phone.
We accept MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, Moov Money, Wave, M-Pesa, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Free Money, Vodacom, Tigo and Halotel, depending on where you are. Fourteen countries are covered, and PayPal and card payments work everywhere else. Pick your country at checkout and you only see the wallets that work there, with the price in your local currency.
Common questions
Will it work on my account?
Only if your PSN account is registered in the United States. Check under Settings, Users and Accounts, Account, Country or Region.
My account is French. Can I still use a US card?
No. Take the French card instead. Changing an account’s region is not something Sony lets you do freely.
How fast do I get the code?
Five minutes as a rule, two hours at the very outside.
Can I use it to pay for PlayStation Plus?
Yes, as long as the subscription is bought on the same US account.
What if the code does not work?
Message us on WhatsApp with a photo of the error. We replace it or refund you.
How do I pay without a bank card?
Pick your country and mobile wallet at checkout, then approve the payment on your phone.
