Why this card exists

Nintendo does not operate an eShop for most African countries, so players here set their account to a country that has one. Francophone players often choose France, because the store, the game pages and most game text then appear in French.

Paying is the obstacle. The French eShop expects a European card. This gift card removes it: you buy the code with mobile money and redeem it on your French account.

Read this before ordering

eShop cards are locked to one country. A French code redeems on a French account only, and nothing converts it afterwards.

To check: on the Switch, open System Settings, then User, select your profile, then Profile Settings, and look at Country or Region. If it says France, this is your card. If it says United States, take the US eShop card instead.

A warning about changing your account country

Nintendo allows a country change, but only when the wallet balance is zero. You cannot move a balance from one region to another, and you cannot switch while money is sitting there.

So choose the region before topping up. People regularly load fifty euros, decide they wanted the US store, and find the money locked until they spend it.

France or the United States?

The French eShop gives you everything in French and prices in euros. The US eShop carries a slightly wider catalogue and quotes in dollars. For a player in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal who prefers a French interface, France is the comfortable answer.

One practical point: Nintendo’s European sales and its American sales rarely fall on the same dates, so the cheaper region varies by title and by week.

How to redeem it

  1. Open the Nintendo eShop on your console.
  2. Select your user, then Redeem Code.
  3. Enter the sixteen-character code from your email.

Paying without a credit card

Nintendo wants a European card; we do not. The payment goes through the mobile wallet you already use, straight from your phone.

We accept MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, Moov Money, Wave, M-Pesa, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Free Money, Vodacom, Tigo and Halotel, depending on where you are. Fourteen countries are covered, and PayPal and card payments work everywhere else. Pick your country at checkout and you only see the wallets that work there, with the price in your local currency.

Common questions

Will it work on my account?

Only if your Nintendo account country is France. Check in System Settings, User, Profile Settings, Country or Region.

Can I change my account to France first?

Yes, as long as your wallet balance is zero. Nintendo blocks the change otherwise.

Does it work on Switch 2?

Yes. The balance belongs to the account, not the console.

Will my games be in French?

The store will be. Individual games usually offer several languages, chosen in the game or in the console settings.

What if the code does not work?

Message us on WhatsApp with a photo of the error. We replace it or refund you.

How do I pay without a bank card?

Pick your country and mobile wallet at checkout, then approve the payment on your phone.
