Support notice
Microsoft ends support for Visio 2021 on 13 October 2026, which is now. There is no extension and no paid extended security updates. The application keeps opening and your diagrams stay yours, but any vulnerability found after that date stays unpatched permanently.
We say this on the page rather than after the sale. If you want a version Microsoft still patches, Visio 2024 Professional is covered until October 2029.
What you receive
A genuine Visio 2021 Professional key for one PC, emailed within five minutes and at most two hours. Flowcharts, org charts, network diagrams and floor plans, plus the database modelling and UML templates of the Professional edition, activated permanently with a single payment.
When 2021 still makes sense
An older workstation where the 2024 release feels heavy, or a team already standardised on 2021 and unwilling to mix versions mid-project. Outside those cases, the difference in price no longer buys you any remaining security updates, which is a poor exchange.
Professional or Standard
This is the Professional edition. Against Standard it adds the database modelling and UML template sets, data linking so shapes update from an Excel sheet or a database, and diagram validation rules. For flowcharts and org charts alone, Standard covers it.
Installation
- Uninstall any earlier Visio version.
- Download from the link that comes with your key.
- Open Visio, go to Account, enter the product key.
Runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11, and does not need Office installed. Visio has no Mac version. WhatsApp us if the installer refuses to cooperate.
Paying without a credit card
Microsoft wants a Visa or Mastercard, and plenty of people across Africa do not have one. Here the payment goes through the mobile wallet you already use, straight from your phone.
We accept MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, Moov Money, Wave, M-Pesa, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Free Money, Vodacom, Tigo and Halotel, depending on where you are. Fourteen countries are covered, and PayPal and card payments work everywhere else. Pick your country at checkout and you only see the wallets that work there. The price appears in your local currency.
Common questions
Will Visio 2021 stop working after 13 October 2026?
No. It opens and your diagrams stay yours. What stops is the flow of security patches from Microsoft.
Should I buy 2021 or 2024?
2024, unless your team is already working in 2021 or your machine will not carry the newer release. Support on 2021 has reached its end date, so there is no longer a security argument for saving the difference.
What does Professional add over Standard?
Database modelling and UML templates, data linking to Excel or a database, and validation rules. For a flowchart or an org chart, Standard is enough.
Does it work on a Mac?
No. Visio desktop is Windows only. On a Mac you would need Windows in a virtual machine, or Visio in the browser, which is a Microsoft subscription and not this licence.
Can I share diagrams with someone on Visio 2024?
Yes. The .vsdx format has been stable since Visio 2013, so files move freely between 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021 and 2024. Older .vsd files from Visio 2010 and earlier open too.
Do I need Office installed?
No. Visio is a separate application and runs on its own.
Can I export to PDF or an image?
Yes. PDF, PNG and SVG among others, which is usually how a diagram ends up in a report or a presentation.
Is it a subscription?
No. One payment, one PC, and the licence does not expire.
Can I upgrade to 2024 later?
Yes, by buying a 2024 licence. Microsoft offers no discounted upgrade path between perpetual versions.
Can I move the licence to another PC later?
No. The key binds to your machine’s motherboard. Reinstalling Windows on the same PC is fine and the key reactivates, but a different computer needs a different licence, and replacing the motherboard counts as a different computer.
How do I pay without a bank card?
Pick your country and mobile wallet at checkout, then approve on your phone.
