What makes this different from our cheaper Office listings

You will have noticed that Office LTSC 2024 Professional Plus costs considerably less on this same site and includes more applications. So the honest question is why anyone would buy this one.

The answer is the licence type. Office Home 2024 is a retail licence attached to your Microsoft account. If your PC dies or you replace it in three years, you sign in on the new machine and reinstall. The LTSC editions are perpetual licences that attach to the machine they were activated on, and a new PC means a new key.

Whether that portability is worth the difference is a decision only you can make, and we are not going to pretend it is an easy one.

What you get

Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, installed locally on one PC or one Mac. One payment, no renewal, no subscription.

No Outlook and no Access at this tier. If you need Outlook for a professional mailbox, Office Home & Business 2024 adds it.

Who it suits

Someone who wants Office properly licensed under their own Microsoft account, with no annual payment and no dependence on a machine they will eventually replace. Students writing long documents, freelancers who invoice in Excel, anyone who would rather own than rent.

Works on Mac too

Unlike the LTSC editions, which are Windows only, this licence covers a Mac. For a Mac user it is one of the few one-off purchase options still available.

Paying without a credit card

Microsoft’s store wants a card. Here the payment goes through the mobile wallet you already use, straight from your phone.
