Crunchyroll Mega Fan: a Year on Your Own Account

Crunchyroll’s own annual price assumes you have a card that takes international payments. Across most of Africa that is the part that fails, not the price. So people watch with ads, or they go looking for a shared login from someone they do not know.

This page explains the third option: a year of Mega Fan applied to the Crunchyroll account you already use, paid from your mobile wallet.

It goes on your own account

This matters more than the price, and it is where most cheap offers fall down. They hand you a login on an account you have never seen, with someone else’s watch history on it.

Here the upgrade is applied to your account. Your watch history stays, your watchlist stays, your profile stays. You keep your password and we do not keep a copy of it.

What Mega Fan gives you

• No ads, including in the middle of an episode
• Simulcasts, so new episodes arrive about an hour after they air in Japan
• Offline downloads on your phone or tablet, which is worth more here than it sounds when your connection is unreliable
• Up to four simultaneous streams on your own devices

One thing to be careful of in what you read elsewhere: Mega Fan is often advertised with 4K streaming. Crunchyroll does not offer 4K on any tier. The ceiling is 1080p, on the annual plan as on every other.

And four streams is for your own screens. Mega Fan is an individual plan, and using it across several households is not what it is for. If you want to split the cost with other people, our shared account listing exists for exactly that and is the honest way to do it.

How an order runs

1. Order the 12-month Mega Fan plan and pay with your mobile wallet. The current price is on that page.
2. Send us the sign-in email on your Crunchyroll account, on WhatsApp.
3. We apply the upgrade by hand. Allow up to 24 hours. Most orders are done well inside that, and 24 hours is the figure we are willing to put in writing rather than the best case.
4. Sign in as you always do, and Mega Fan is active.

If we need anything more than your email address, we will tell you why. Should you ever send a password to any seller, set a temporary one first and change it afterwards. That advice costs you nothing and it is good practice whoever you are buying from.

Paying without a bank card

MTN MoMo and Orange Money in Cameroon. Airtel Money, Moov Money, Wave, M-Pesa, Telecel Cash, AT Money, Free Money, Vodacom, Tigo and Halotel elsewhere, fourteen countries in all. Card and PayPal work everywhere else, and prices display in your local currency.

What we tell you before you buy

Streaming subscriptions are not licence keys. A Windows key does not expire and nobody can take it back; a subscription depends on a provider that sets its own rules and can change them.

So here is where we stand, in plain words. Once the upgrade is on your account we do not promise a replacement or a refund if it stops before the twelve months are up. No Crunchyroll subscription we have sold has been cut short so far, and if yours is, we will look at it, but that is goodwill rather than a commitment and calling it a guarantee would be dishonest. The product page says the same thing.

If that uncertainty does not suit you, subscribing directly with Crunchyroll is the safe route, and we will say so rather than talk you out of it.
